5 apps for chronic overthinkers
Overthinking is the same few thoughts going round, getting louder each time because they have nowhere else to go. These five give them somewhere: a name for the feeling underneath, a structure to think a problem through once, a quick way out of the choices that do not deserve the time, and two journals for writing the loop down at the start and the end of the day.
The apps for chronic overthinkers are How We Feel, Framework, Tiny Decisions, stoic. and Day One. I built Framework; the other 4 are other developers’ apps.

How We Feel
★★★★★★★★★★4.0 · Free · Health & Fitness · App Store 4.9 (29,914)
Name what you're feeling, then spot the patterns as they show up.

Framework Editor’s pick
★★★★★★★★★★4.5 · Free · Business · App Store 5.0 (6)
Pick a thinking model like Eisenhower or a premortem; AI fills it in.

Tiny Decisions
★★★★★★★★★★4.0 · Free · Entertainment · App Store 4.7 (89,648)
Spin a wheel for the decisions that don't deserve an hour.

stoic.
★★★★★★★★★★4.0 · Free · Health & Fitness · App Store 4.8 (35,872)
Morning and evening prompts to get the loop out of your head.
Skip it if you want to look around before deciding: the subscription prompt arrives before the app does, and the free tier is deliberately thin.

Day One
★★★★★★★★★★4.0 · Free · Health & Fitness · App Store 4.8 (118,426)
Write it down with photos and audio, in a journal only you can open.
Skip it if you bought it years ago and expected that to be that — the move to a subscription is the loudest thread in its reviews, and a decade of features has left it less simple than a journal needs to be.

Framework is one of mine — everything else on this list is someone else’s app. How that works.

All 5 are free to download on the App Store; some sell extras or a full version inside the app.
Which of these apps did the author build?
Framework — I built it. The other 4 are other developers’ apps, and none of them knew they were going to be on this list. There are no affiliate links and no paid placements anywhere on the site.
