What it does

Succulent is a photo journal for succulents instead of a watering spreadsheet. Every plant gets a diary worth looking back through, not a checklist. From 7 apps for keeping your first plants alive.

A dated photo of each plant, so slow changes stop being invisible. From 5 apps for people who keep killing their succulents.

A photo when you notice something. Months later the change is one swipe. From 5 apps for the things that change too slowly to notice.

Succulent gives one page per plant instead of one watering schedule for all of them: what you did, when you did it, and how that same Echeveria looked in spring. From 5 apps that know your window, not your plant.

The developer describes it as: “If you love succulents, you already know the frustration: every plant care app on the market was designed to look like a watering schedule spreadsheet.”

Alternatives to Succulent

The closest alternatives to Succulent are Photone, Plant Daddy, Greg, Plantfie, Greener, PlantScope, PlantNet, Sun Seeker, Hygrometer, Happy Scale, Selfie A Day, Growth, Strong, Light Meter LM-3000, GrowIt and Skyflow — 16 apps from the 4 lists Succulent appears on, each answering the same moment a different way.

• PhotonePhotone turns the phone camera into a plant light meter: PAR, PPFD, DLI, lux and colour temperature, so you stop guessing whether that corner is bright enough.
• Plant DaddyPlant Daddy does just watering: add your plants, keep care notes, set reminders. It does not even ask you to make an account.
• GregGreg identifies your specific plant, then tells you how much water it needs and reminds you when, instead of a flat every-seven-days rule.
• PlantfiePlantfie identifies the plant from a photo, then hands you a care guide and reminders for that species rather than one generic schedule.
• GreenerGreener takes three photos of the plant that looks off and tells you what to do next: overwatering, pests, light stress, or something else.
• PlantScopePlantScope diagnoses the leaf that looks wrong. Sick foliage, fungal issues and the usual troubles, identified from a photo.
• PlantNetSnap a leaf or flower to find out which plant you actually bought.
• Sun SeekerShows where the sun crosses your window, hour by hour, all year.
• HygrometerShows the humidity around you on a simple dry-to-wet dial.
• Happy ScaleMakes sense of the ups and downs of weigh-ins, so the real trend shows.
• Selfie A DayA selfie a day, played back as a movie of you.
• GrowthPlots your child's height and weight on the WHO and CDC growth curves.
• StrongLogs every set and weight, so the gym progress is on record, not in memory.
• Light Meter LM-3000Light Meter LM-3000 turns the front camera into a light meter and reads out lux or foot-candles. A number for that exact spot, instead of guessing at "bright indirect".
• GrowItGrowIt is a planting calendar built from your zone and climate: when to start seeds, when things go outside, and a heads-up before a freeze arrives.
• SkyflowSkyflow is a time-lapse camera with manual control over interval and exposure. Point it at the same shelf for a month to find out if anything moved.
